Metroid: Other M isn't canon

It's in-universe Galactic Federation propaganda dressed up as an award-bait "based on a True Story" movie to cover up the events of Fusion.

Okay I actually really like this take. It pretty much single handedly explains all the issues with Samus' characterisation in that game and the story in general. It would also explain why nightmare is there because otherwise it feels like a very random detail to include - but if investigators had found its remains in the wreckage then the federation would have had to include a mention of its existence.

Basically I'm making this my official headcanon now. Thank you, dappercritter, for gracing me with an explanation I didn't know I needed.

I’ve always thought Nightmare didn’t make any sense in the story, and that said story felt like an overbloated retread of Fusion’s story. (That is if the horror was replaced with character drama.)

I could go on but all the things that convinced me of this, but let’s just say that if you pay attention, you’ll see how many broad strokes these games have in common… ;)

i remember the animated show being good and the movie was. well the cartoon and the characters were fun but is there anything about the comics or whatever worth getting into? genuinely curious green lantern dc superheroes critter questions ramblings of the critter
